This year, we are really feeling the Christmas spirit in Maine! From the best Christmas towns to wonderful light displays, it’s been easy to provide you with ideas for how to enjoy the festive feel in Maine. As winter goes, this one has been pretty Maine-y lately. Snow, cold and that pesky “polar vortex” have all reminded us of our Northern geography. So, if you’re not willing to brave the outdoors to take in the holiday lights this year, we’re more than happy to bring the holiday lights to you! This spectacular showcase of light takes place annually at the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden.
The lights take tons of preparation, but create the best display in all of Maine.

The entire town gets into the spirit by hosting the "Boothbay Festival of Lights." Don't be fooled into thinking that the "good stuff" has already passed. The tree might be lit and the boats may have paraded, but don't skip a trip and risk missing the town lit up in all its glory!
Local businesses get into the spirit by decking themselves out in whatever manner speaks to them.
