Built in 1897 and later enlarged in 1914, the charming Ogunquit Memorial Library was designed in the Romanesque architectural style, giving way to an enchanting and lovely exterior. It also happens to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so history and architecture buffs alike will find a great deal to appreciate about this unique and beautiful little library.
The grounds are so beautiful that you may want to take your time gazing around and letting the anticipation build before you enter the library itself. You’ll feel like you’re stepping into a dazzling dream as you open this intricately designed door and pass into the library's common area.
Rustic furniture awaits visitors that wish to sit and quietly read the day away. An old grandfather clock sits nearby that was built in 1941 out of a black walnut piano case. It even has piano key inlays!
