Every year in Maine, we look forward to the holidays. Even the smallest towns bring their streets to life with sparkling lights and town trees and the large ones go all-out! With a fresh coat of snow, this season is even more special. To add to the occasion, make plans to see these drive-thru Christmas lights in Maine. The annual attraction draws people from all over New England.
Every spring and summer, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay comes to life with plants, flowers, and other natural features reminding us just how beautiful the state is.
Visiting is a must for anyone in the state who loves spending time peacefully in nature. But for those who enjoy the sparkle of the Christmas season, winter is a great time to visit!
Most years, this event features a walking path through the lights. But, with times changing, this year a visit means safely driving through to see each and every incredible light.
Each ticket (more on that below) allows entry for one car at a specific time on a specific date. The ride takes about 20 minutes and the speed limit is 5 MPH.
You can extend your visit by making a trip to see the Community Lighting Contest entries featuring 50 different homes and businesses that have decorated their own outdoor areas.
This is one of the most anticipated holiday events of the year and we're so glad it can be safely experienced with this fun new driving element.
Gardens Aglow at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens takes place Thursday through Sunday from November 20th, 2021 through January 1st, 2022.
