From breakfast through to dinner, Maine sandwich shops will keep you full all day. Check out this list, which is in no particular order, of some of our favorite sandwich purveyors in the state.
The original Coffee Pot sandwich has been on offer for 80 years and those who love it have been eating it their entire lives. You'll know it's the original if it includes green peppers, onions, tomatoes, seasonings, and toppings that include salami, ham, turkey, roast beef, tuna or egg salad, cheese and pickles.
This circus-themed deli has a huge selection for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Try the Big Top's namesake sandwich (pictured) or branch out and try the highly recommended Trailblazer, Oliphant or
Egress.

Just outside of Freeport sits Edna and Lucy's. This unassuming red shop at the side of Hallowell Road has a modest, but incredible list of sandwiches that change often. Stop in for daily specials and pick up their not-to-be-missed donuts as well.

Less of a sandwich shop and more of an actual restaurant, the famous fried haddock sandwich earned Thirsty Whale a spot on our list. Check it out if you love your fish perfectly fried with a side of incredible clam chowder.

In the heart of the Rangeley Lakes Region is The Shed, serving up incredible BBQ sandwiches with even better sides. You can't go wrong with the pulled pork or beef brisket sandwiches.
