In operation since 2009, Wilton Lights is a display created by the Hilton family in Wilton. Created in conjunction with InterFix Communications, the private home regularly receives mentions on local TV and radio. Each night's "performance" is set to music and runs from roughly 5pm to 930pm through January 1st. The display is located at: 1228 Main Street, Wilton, ME
Whether you love Southern Maine or think it should be renamed Northern Massachusetts, I think we can all agree that the Christmas display is pretty gorgeous. Meander through Tommy's Park, Longfellow and Monument Squares and then pop down to the Old Port and take a look at some of the best lights in the area.
The Parade of Lights may be over, but don't let that stop you from heading downtown to see one of the most lovely Christmas displays in small(er) town Maine. The formal lighting events are over for the season, but stop in one night for a slow stroll and dinner.
6. The L.L. Bean Northern Lights Celebration, Freeport
This event takes place nightly until December 31st. Every half-hour from 5pm to 9pm the synchronized show features music and visual effects. Catch it directly outside the flagship store and throughout the campus.
7. Auburn Lights, Auburn
While the original Auburn Lights house is taking the year off, their friends and neighbors at 48 Vista Drive will be taking over. They’ve collaborated in the past, so the level of expertise and beauty will be on the same level as the original at 60 Vista Drive. And, next year they hope to be back in business!
Have fun!
