There are a lot of ways to try unique foods here in Maine. Whether it’s Mexican you crave or Indian or even those classic New England dishes that you just won’t find anywhere else in the country, there’s no shortage of places to expand your palette. One of our favorites is this German restaurant serving up hearty meals and tasty treats!
If you're hungry and you need something hearty, filly and unique, you'll want to check out Richard's Restaurant in Brunswick.
Speaking of which, maybe you'll want to start with some traditional pretzels. They also offer appetizers like herring and sour cream, strudel with ham, asparagus and cheddar and even Weinbergschnecken, which is snails with garlic herb butter over a puff pastry.
The entrees here are huge and include both traditional German dishes as well as beloved American dishes. That means just about any group should be able to find something they love.
Each day they're open you can enjoy a different special. Meat lovers will want to be here on Thursdays for Rindsrouladen, a thin sliced beef rolled with onions, bacon, mustard, pickles and braised in brown sauce.
