Some people occupy their time in Maine by sightseeing. Others strap on hiking boots and head to the great outdoors. While we can’t deny that those are both great options, we also can’t deny that shopping is its own type of sightseeing! Exploring antiques and other vintage finds that have been around for years is a fun way to spend the day. And if you do it at this place you’ll have the ability to refuel at the cafe while you shop!
Welcome to Antique Marketplace & Cafe located in Bangor! While you've probably been to other antique, vintage and thrift shops none of them have the feel of this homey spot.
Sure, they have plenty in the way of cool finds. But we love that the merchandise is laid out over two massive floors that are perfectly shoppable. You can walk into an area and almost envision these things in your own home.
Even if you're not in the market to buy, this is a fun place to explore. It's almost like visiting a museum. But, a museum where you can touch things, buy them and remember that life was like in Maine decades ago.
And, what truly sets this shopping experience apart is the cafe! Work up an appetite shopping and then pop into the cafe for a snack or one of their perfectly roasted coffees.
But be prepared to spend some time here. There's a good chance you'll get lost down memory lane!
Antique Marketplace & Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can learn more about them on their website or follow them on Facebook for new finds. They can be reached on 207-941-2111.
