What are some other Maine Traditions?

We have a long history in Maine and with that comes some strange traditions or just interesting things we do without even thinking about them. Here are a couple more for you. When the weather starts to warm up we can finally go outside again and we will set up our lawn chairs and just soak in the sun. it may only be 60 degrees but it feels nice to feel the sun after five or six months of not having it. We have red hotdogs that snap when you bite them and we call them red snappers. We eat other funny things that no one else seems to. We however have a rugged sense of ownership of our land and we are proud of it. We have days to celebrate our towns, and we have festivals to celebrate our Maine way of life. Sometimes you just have to laugh at the things we do, and know that many times other people just don't live as we do.

What kind of things make up the culture of Maine?

Maine has more to offer than just lumberjacks and fishermen, but those are both pretty cool things all by themselves. We have also contributed new innovative inventions to our world and we have made some wonderful advancements for society. We do love our small coastal towns, and we pride ourselves on places like Acadia. Especially places that are as beautiful as Jordan Pond. We love our woods and we love going to unique places like the Viles Arboretum.
