One of the hallmarks of a Maine summer is the good ol’ fashioned neighborhood yard sale. Once the folding tables come out on a sunny Saturday morning, you know the rest of the day can be spent hopping from one lawn to another looking for castaway treasures in need of a new home. But one Maine area has taken the simple yard sale to a whole new level.
In the 1980s, the residents of Cornville, Maine came together to create a small yard sale.
From Skowhegan to West Ridge Road to the Malbons Mill Road and beyond, households save their no-longer-needed treasures all year and bring them out all at once.
We recommend that you don't come with a list, but instead simply take your time and enjoy the fun and enthusiasm shared by the community in a very special part of Maine.
The 2017 event will take place on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st from 9am to 5pm.
