Zoos are a great place to spend an afternoon, with or without kids! It’s always fun to see your favorite animals up close and personal and learn more about them. During the holiday season, the Baton Rouge Zoo transforms into an enchanting display featuring all your favorite zoo animals. BREC’S Baton Rouge ZooLights makes for an ideal evening strolling around checking out all the beautiful Christmas lights, so be sure to mark your calendar!
Established in 1970, the Baton Rouge Zoo is a fun-filled zoo where people of all ages get the chance to connect with animals.
Along your stroll, you’ll encounter larger-than-life displays of all your favorite animals like flamingos, giraffes, elephants, and more. Some of the displays can be up to 30 feet tall!
Admission is only $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. If you bring a non-perishable food item, your tickets are half off! Items will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
Gates for ZooLights open at 5:30 p.m. and the zoo will sell tickets until 8 p.m. The zoo grounds close at 9 p.m. so be sure to give yourself enough time to walk through everything!
