This Is the Number One Unsolved Mystery In Louisiana And It Will Leave You Baffled
One of the biggest unsolved mysteries that’s sxill alive and well in Louisiana is the mystery of the Jeff Davis 8, also known as the Jennings 8. Here’s the basics of the story, if you haven’t heard it yet.

From 2005-2009, eight women were found dead in Jefferson Davis Parish, in and around the town of Jennings, LA. These deaths have gone on to be one of the biggest unsolved mysteries in the state of Louisiana.

The murders all went unsolved, and many of the bodies were found in ditches and other areas, seriously decomposed to the point where it was difficult to determine the cause of death. (Pictured: A map indicating where bodies were discovered.)

Fairly soon, individuals began to connect the murders and suspect that a serial killer was on the loose. All of the women who were found dead were known to engage in risky behaviors, such as prostitution and drug use, so there was a sense that they could have been consorting with the same person. These were also beloved daughters, sisters, and mothers to all who were in their community.

When the popular television drama True Detective was released, many suspected that the writers used the Jeff Davis 8 case as an inspiration for the mystery in the show.

This was particularly assumed because many have come to believe that the reason the murders have not been solved is because they were perpetrated by someone within the police deparment that would have the power to thwart investigations.
This theory has never been confirmed, and the ultimate mystery of what happened to these women remains. Below is a video that explains the entire story very clearly.
