This is one trail you’ll want to get your timing right on, so let’s take a look at when to take this epic trail:

Gilliam is a tiny little village tucked away in the northwest corner of the state.

Home to about 200 people, many people have never heard of Gilliam...but that's about to change.

Gilliam's Main Street, also known as Highway 3049 is where you'll find the endless sunflower fields, as well as Sentell Road.
This is one scenic drive you'll want to make sure you've got the windows down and a clean windshield.

The trail is about 20 miles through these country roads, and can take as long as you'd like!
During the bloom season, your scenic drive will be met with an endless view of sunflowers as far as the eye can see.

You don't have to wait for the festival to drive down the trail, but it is part of the fun! Supporting local businesses, picking up some delicious jams and jellies, and learning about the process from the farmers are all part of the experience!
As long as the sunflowers are in bloom, the fields are open to the public.

These farmers do such a wonderful job at caring for these fields year-round, and we are blessed to be able to enjoy them for FREE!
