This wildlife sanctuary features more than 3,000 acres of land just north of Baton Rouge. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in all of Louisiana.

The Scimitar Horned Oryx, pictured here, has been classified as extinct in the wild. The thriving herd at GWC is one of the crown jewels of the sanctuary.
The Pere David deer are another group of animals that have been lovingly cared for at the GWC.

At one point, there were only 15 of these deer in the entire world. They are originally from China, and are now happy at the GWC.

The 1.5-hour tour takes you through more than 900 acres of Louisiana countryside, bringing you up close and personal with a huge variety of exotic animals.
Riders on the safari tour are given feed cups to offer to the animals, which are really special.
