Even though Louisiana is a coastal state, it’s not known for being a beach destination, despite having miles and miles of beautiful coastline to enjoy. Next time you’ve got the urge to enjoy a day of beach bumming, consider packing up the car and heading down to this incredible beach in Louisiana.
Once you’ve explored Rutherford Beach, check out its nearby neighbor, Holly Beach. This is another popular beach located west of Rutherford, and you can drive right along the beach here, too. Both are located along Louisiana’s iconic Creole Nature Trail, a scenic 180-mile All-American Road that weaves through southwestern Louisiana.
