As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
There’s certainly no shortage of places to stay when it comes to New Orleans. Hundreds of hotels and bed and breakfasts are peppered throughout the city, so no matter what part of the city you want to stay, there’s a place for you. When it comes to picking out your lodging for your stay, consider La Belle Esplanade. It has a rich history and a color scheme that’s as unique as New Orleans.
La Belle Esplanade was built in 1883. All three houses were built by Julius Weiss, a cotton broker.
Weiss never lived in any of the homes. He built them because the area was going through redevelopment to satisfy the wealthy merchants that were relocating from the French Quarter. He knew it was going to be a popular neighborhood, and he jumped at the opportunity.
In 1986 James Derbes, a local attorney purchased 2216 Esplanade Avenue with the intent of turning it into a bed and breakfast.
Matthew King and Melanie Schmitt are the perfect tag team. They're the reason Le Belle Esplanade has been ranked #1 place to stay in New Orleans since 2014!
Next time you're looking for a weekend getaway, consider La Belle Esplanade.
