Found in West Central Louisiana, Hodges Gardens is known as the "Garden in the Forest". The botanical gardens include beautiful landscape and water features and has become the perfect place for a wonderful picnic or a walk with someone you love.

8. Poverty Point Unesco World Heritage Site, Pioneer, LA

Dated between 1650 and 1100 B.C., this site of more than 400 acres is unique among archaeological sites on this continent. The site features five mounds and six rows of ridges that probably took more than 500 million hours of labor to build.
9. Old State Capitol, Baton Rouge, LA

This amazing piece of history, one of the most beautiful examples of the Gothic Revival style in the nation, was completed in 1852. It remained the state capitol building until the new building was completed in 1932. The site is now home to the Museum of Political History, which highlights many exciting events in Louisiana’s political life.

Just between Lafayette and Breaux Bridge, there’s a wonderful piece of nature that you shouldn’t miss. Rent a canoe or kayak and spend a day on Lake Martin—you’ll see some beautiful sights and get all the relaxation you need.
11. Pharmacy Museum, New Orleans, LA

Louis J. Dufilho, Jr., the first licensed pharmacist in America, housed his apothecary at this French Quarter site, and today they have transformed his space into a museum displaying the earliest concoctions and medicines used in the 19th-century.
