With the cooler weather approaching, it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore this beautiful state of ours. When it comes to hiking trails, Louisiana has some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the country, as well as some of the most diverse. Whether you’re looking to venture down a boardwalk trail that will lead you through the bayous and swamps or a rugged primitive trail where you camp pitch a tent and sleep under the stars, Louisiana’s hiking options offer something for everyone. This particular trail in the Kisatchie National Forest has some jaw-dropping views that’ll make you second guess whether you’re still in Louisiana, and it’s a great trail for all skill levels. Let’s take a closer look.
The Kisatchie National Forest covers over 600,000 acres of some of the most unique landscape Louisiana has to offer.
You don’t have to do the entire 10-mile loop, but there are several primitive campsites along the way where you can stop off wherever you’d like and spend a night under the stars.
