An old town with a very interesting history, including lots of Spanish influence, Zwolle is now a great place to relax and unwind. And if you ever need a boost to do so, Toledo Bend State Park, pictured here, is just a few miles away.


The parish seat of rural Rd River Parish, Coushatta is a historic and sleepy town that still has ties to the famed Louisiana Meat Pie Company. The best part? You are only a few miles west of Kisatchie National Forest, pictured here.

Another North Louisiana town, Plain Dealing is near the Arkansas border, north of Shreveport. Black Bayou Lake (pictured) is perfect for country sunsets and is only a few miles west of the town.
