This Charming Louisiana Town Is Picture Perfect For An Autumn Day Trip
Finally the temperatures are dropping and many schools are offering up a fall break if there hasn’t been one already. You know what that means: It’s time for a fall day trip! Louisiana has so many charming small towns, it can be hard to pick just one. But Belle Chasse has totally stolen my heart—especially during the fall season. Here’s why:

The town is just outside the city limits of New Orleans, but has a charm all its own. The town name means "good hunt" and was named after Col. Joseph Deville Degoutin Bellechasse, a City Council member and the first adjutant general of the Louisiana National Guard.

Southern Seaplane offers epic tours of the Louisiana wetlands by--you guessed it--seaplane. It's the largest operation in the gulf south. You'll find them at #1 Coquille Dr. in Belle Chasse.

It's truly the most amazing way to understand the complex and rich environment--bayous, swamps, marshes, and estuaries that make Louisiana's lands such a unique ecosystem.

Whichever you choose, you are guaranteed to get a perspective on Louisiana you've never had before, like this up close and personal moment with the Chandeleur Islands.

This is a 6th generation family owned farm and farmstand that is known far and wide for having some of the absolute best citrus available anywhere in the state.

You can stop by their farm stand, beside their citrus grove in Jesuit Bend, to get an up close and personal peek at their trees. They don't spray or wax their citrus, giving it an amazingly sweet flavor.

I think their satsumas are the absolute best in the whole state!

This neighborhood favorite is known for it's amazing seafood boils and friendly atmosphere. It's been family owned since 1984.

They even sell their secret Salvo's Seafood Boil, which makes a great souvenir for your trip!

They offer up classic favorites like malts and milkshakes, as well as a full menu of sandwiches and other snacks.

It's a throwback to a different, simpler time.

You can even get those 'stuffed' snowballs with soft serve in the middle. Delicious.

We bet you'll be planning your next trip right away!
