Zachary is a city outside of Baton Rouge that’s home to just over 10,000 people. It’s not exactly a small town, but it’s not a large town, either. It’s just the right size. If you find yourself in this neck of the woods, then you’ve got to pack your bags and swing by Leblanc’s Drive Inn, a hidden gem in Louisiana serving up delicious lunch plates and maybe the best burgers in the state.

Locally owned and operated, it’s pretty common to see the entire family working when you swing by, and that includes the octogenarian Barbara Waguespack, who founded the restaurant with her late husband nearly 50 years ago. It feels like your own grandmother is cooking for you.
The restaurant keeps things simple: order at the counter and then have a seat in the dining room or outside area.

They're pretty off the grid with no website or social media, which can be refreshing in an age where most people have their orders picked out before they even leave the house.
The no-frills, all-flavor joint does have a few tables peppered around outside, but unless the umbrellas are up or it's overcast, you may prefer to enjoy your meal from the comfort of the air-conditioning dining room inside.
