Cajun Country is peppered with charming towns that are ideal for day trips, and Arnaudville is at the top of our list. This tiny town clocks in at less than a square mile, but don’t let the size of the town deter you, this beautiful town has a lot to offer, and you’ll want a full day to explore it all.
With a population that hovers around 1,000, it’s safe to say Arnaudville qualifies as a small town.
It may be tiny, but it’s also incredibly unique. For starters, the town is in both St. Landry and St. Martin parishes, not something very many Louisiana towns can claim.
The little locale is nestled along the banks of both Bayou Teche and Bayou Fuselier.
The town plays host to several events throughout the year, so there’s always something fun to look forward to in Arnaudville. Bargain shoppers will have a blast shuffling through the 7-Mile Yard Sale, an annual event that takes place on the 3rd Saturdays in both March and October. In April, come and celebrate one of Louisiana’s most famous dishes at the Étouffée Festival, where you can enjoy live music, a carnival, and some of the best Cajun food you’ve ever tasted.
Many of these beers are made to compliment Cajun and Creole dishes, so grab some of your favorite beverages to bring home next time you make your favorite Louisiana dish.
Speaking of Cajun cuisine, a trip to Arnaudville isn't complete without a meal from The Little Big Cup.

Pictured above is the Cajun Kevin po’boy, a new twist on a po’boy that’s stuffed with sautéed shrimp, crab meat, crawfish tails, and andouille all in a creamy Parmesan-butter sauce. This is one po’boy you get a pass for using utensils with, so go ahead and grab a fork.
Cajun Country, Louisiana, is full of outdoor adventures — and this tiny town is just the beginning! Just outside of Arnaudville is Breaux Bridge, another charming town in Louisiana where you can immerse yourself in even more delicious food, hiking trails, swamp tours, and even a prehistoric park filled with larger-than-life replicas of your favorite dinosaurs.
