Louisiana is known for our insanely delicious culinary creations, but sadly BBQ isn’t one of them. Even though we may not have the reputation, that doesn’t mean we don’t know what we’re doing when we get around a smokehouse. When it comes to good BBQ, few can compare to the excellence you’ll find at Johnson’s Boucaniere, home to some of the best BBQ in Louisiana.
It’s not uncommon for people to make a detour and go well out of their way to pull up to Johnson’s Boucaniere.
The iconic eatery has been serving the Lafayette community for many years. In fact, the business began as Johnson’s Grocery in 1937 and was one of the first and only grocery stores to sell boudin at the time.
After a few years of tinkering, Johnson’s perfected their own boudin recipe and was selling out every weekend.
Using some seriously top-of-the-line smokers, Johnson’s slow-smokes briskets and pulled pork for 12-14 hours, so you know it’s going to fall off the bone. Their signature BBQ sauce has been finely tuned for nearly a decade, and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else.
And for all those early birds who want to get a jump on their day, Johnson’s also serves breakfast on Saturdays and brunch on Sundays.
Bring home some sausages to take your next gumbo or jambalaya to new levels!
For more information, visit the Johnson’s Boucaniere website, and don’t forget to give them a follow on Facebook so you never miss out on any of their latest creations. While you’re in Cajun Country, how about taking this delicious boudin trail that highlights some of the best boudin in Louisiana?
