Small town life is a fabulous life. I myself grew up in a small town and I look back on those memories fondly. A town where everyone knows your name, you’re greeted by everyone when you walk into a building, and the local restaurant knows your order by heart. In these small towns, when they ask “How’s ya mama and dem?” They really mean it, because they probably know ya mama and all dem others.

Located in the northernmost portion of Natchitoches Parish, this tiny village had a population of 269 at the 2010 census.

With less than 600 people, this charming little town has a total area of 1 square mile, all of it land. Blink and you'll miss it!

This tiny little southwest town is along the Creole Nature Trail, and it a must see for nature lovers. It’s probably the closest thing we have to a beach town.

Located in Webster Parish in northwest Louisiana, this town had a population of 1009 at the 2010 census.

A wonderful Cajun town just outside of Lafayette, Henderson is a top spot for fishing and bird watching. And of course, some amazing Cajun cuisine.

Legend has it that Captain James Campbell, one of Jean Laffite’s most trusted lieutenants, hid $9,000 in gold coins in the area. Today, Mermentau has an estimated population of about 700.

This pretty little town is located off of I-49, just north of Opelousas. A perfect place for antiquing or taking stroll through Magnolia Ridge Jogging Trail.

Florien is a quaint little village on Highway 171 in Sabine Parish. One of Florien’s great attractions is Hodges Gardens State Park, 225 acres of beautiful botanical gardens just waiting to be explored.

Located on Bayou Lafourche in Assumption Parish, this is one of the larger towns on the list, with the population around 2,000.

Head west of Ruston on I-20 and you'll find Simsboro. This tiny town has less than 1000 residents.

Small in size but big in culture, Eunice is right in the middle of Cajun Country. You have to check out the World Championship Crawfish Etoufee Cook-Off, held the last Sunday in March. One hundred teams compete for bragging rights for best dish and best decorated booth.
