Every year, a beautiful country road in Louisiana blooms with thousands of towering sunflowers that you have to see to believe. Rather than just drive by, consider planning a visit to coincide with the upcoming festival celebrating these beautiful blooms! This free event is put on by the Red River Crossroads Historical Association and features live music, amazing food, activities for kids, and, of course, the mesmerizing sunflower fields. The Sunflower Trail & Festival returns to Highway 3049 near Gilliam on Saturday, June 15th, 2019.
The fields are located along LA-3049 between Shreveport and Gilliam, as well as on the Sentell Road Loop. This country road will take you through approximately 20 miles of beautiful scenery and various sunflower fields.
Stop as often as you’d like to get a closer look at these beautiful flowers. You’ll want to bring your camera along, as it’s a great backdrop for a family photo!
