Lafayette locals will remember Abdalla’s as the place to go get new sneakers, uniforms, back to school clothes, and party dresses. They closed down in 2015 after 110 years in business.

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, better known as A&P closed down in 2015, after 156 years.

This Shreveport department store operated from 1898 until closing down in 1987.

The Sav-A-Center chain had supermarkets in throughout Louisiana, even a couple stores in Mississippi before selling to Rouses and Breaux Mart.

Lake Charles residents will remember this department store fondly. It closed down in 1986.

If you lived anywhere near New Orleans, you knew this jingle. "Rosenberg’s, Rosenberg’s. 1825 Tu-lane!" I don’t think there was any other establishment more successful in getting customers to know their address. This popular furniture store shut its doors in the early 2000s, but their jingle will forever be stuck in our heads.
