Take A Scenic Hike On This Shaded, Kid-Friendly Trail In Louisiana
Introducing the next generation to Louisiana’s nature trails is always a good idea. Who knows, it may inspire the next environmentalist! When you want to get out of the house and enjoy an outdoor adventure, the Acadiana Park Nature Station has some of the best kid-friendly trails in Louisiana, perfect for even the tiniest of nature lovers.

The park serves two purposes: education and research. The park hosts several environmental education programs for kids of all ages, and they even have a program called the Fourth Grade Environmental Education Program where, every year, each and every fourth grade class in Lafayette Parish gets its own special day at the park to explore the trails, check out the live animal exhibits, and more.

The area is in a unique spot, sitting at the crossroads of two distinct ecosystems: the Gulf Coastal Tallgrass Prairie (or rather, what’s left of it) and the Mississippi River Floodplain.

You can mix and match to fit your schedule.

Shaded trails are the best, especially during the warm-weather months down here.

It's definitely an enchanting place to spend the day!
