Louisiana’s most popular hiking trails are popular for a reason. Usually, they check off all the boxes like being close to a major city but still providing beautiful scenery and maybe even some wildlife along the way. If you’re searching for a hiking trail in Ruston, Louisiana that meets the same criteria, I’ve found the perfect trail. Let’s check it out:
Huckleberry Trails Park is a 23-acre community park located just southwest of downtown Ruston.
Leashed dogs are also welcome, and there's even a special water fountain that's low to the ground and just for them! I love when parks add special touches like that.

One of my favorite parts about this park are the nature trails that weave throughout the park.
The trails are well maintained, and wide enough so that you shouldn't have any issues bringing a stroller through the trails...just make sure you don't visit after a long rain. The trails are not paved and can be pretty muddy after a rain.
This hidden gem park is great all around, but especially if you want a little peace and quiet.
