It might surprise you that this is one of the newer state parks to join the Louisiana State Park system. The park opened to the public in the fall of 2010!

It’s a lovely area to watch for wildlife. Alligators and turtles are the most common sightings, but if you’re really lucky you may spot some of the other local wildlife that call the area home including hogs and white-tailed deer.
