A good restaurant might have great food, but a great restaurant pairs that food with an amazing atmosphere. From quirky 50s-themed diners to dockside restaurants adorned with driftwood and beachy vibes, creating the right atmosphere can make or break a restaurant just as much as its menu. There’s one rustic restaurant in Louisiana that nails both, and you’ll fall in love from the moment you pull into the parking lot.
Nestled along historic River Road just on the outskirts of New Orleans, The Rivershack Tavern is one of the most memorable spots you’ll ever grab a bite to eat.
At first glance, you might think you’re about to walk into an antique store.
The building is over 100 years old and has worn many hats over the years. In the early 1900s, it was a grocery store and a bar. Over the next century, it served as everything from a liquor store to a pharmacy.
The advertisements on the front of the building were actually an accidental discovery.
The hand-painted creations were unearthed after workers removed old asbestos shingles and found the ads in mint condition!

If the charm of the exterior doesn't win you over, the interior sure will.
From ribeyes to shrimp scampi, the talented chefs in the kitchen are always up to something delicious.
