- Tammany Trace: Louisiana’s only rail trail weaves through five towns in St. Tammany Parish. The paved path runs for 31 miles with a trailhead at each town. It’s a popular hiking trail for bikes and pedestrians, and an equestrian trail runs for some (not all) of the Trace.
- Wild Azalea Trail: The Wild Azalea Trail is the longest primitive trail in Louisiana. Located in the Kisatchie National Forest, the trail clocks in at 24 miles out and back. The start and end points of the Wild Azalea Trail are the Woodworth Town Hall and the Valentine Lake Recreation Area. Both offer parking.
