1. Abita Mystery House
This quirky little museum houses thousands of found objects and homemade inventions that you simply have to see to believe. From odd collections to old arcade machines, you never know what you’re going to find here. Address: 22275 Hwy. 36, Abita Springs, LA 70420
2. Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum
Take a trip back to 1934 to learn all about the life and death of the infamous criminals Bonnie and Clyde. The museum is housed in the building that was once a cafe where Bonnie and Clyde ate before meeting their deaths. Address: 2419 Main St., Gibsland, LA 71028
3. Jerry Lee Lewis Museum
If you’re a Jerry Lee Lewis fan, this is a must-see. Run by family members, this charming little museum houses tons of signed memorabilia, photos, and personal items of the one and only Jerry Lee Lewis. Address: 700 Louisiana Ave., Ferriday LA 71334
4. Old Beauregard Parish Jail
Also known as the "Hanging Jail" this former prison located in DeRidder is allegedly haunted by former inmates. They offer tours, and during the Halloween season, they offer after dark tours which are quite spooky! Address: 205 W. First St., DeRidder, LA 70634
5. Chauvin Sculpture Garden
This unique collection of handmade sculptures is the work of Kenny Hill, who lived on the property years ago. Today the property is run by Nicholls State and this free attraction is certainly worth an hour of your time. Address: 5337 Bayouside Dr., Chauvin, LA 70344
6. Olla Wishing Tree
If you find yourself passing through La Salle Parish, pay a little visit to the charming town of Olla. The Olla Town Square not only has a delightful Farmers Market, but also a Wishing Tree. The Wishing Tree, which is located near the Community Pavilion, is said to grant wishes to visitors who close their eyes and touch the tree.
7. Kaffie-Frederick General Mercantile
A trip to Louisiana’s oldest city wouldn’t be complete without venturing into this historic gem. The general store is the oldest in the state, dating back to 1863! Address: 758 Front St., Natchitoches, LA 71457
8. Kliebert’s Turtle & Alligator Farm
Established in 1957, this family owned and operated business claims to be the oldest turtle and alligator farm in Louisiana. What makes this roadside attraction unique is that several of the over 300 gators living here are still around from the original 1957 hatching! You can take tours, watch a feeding, and sometimes even interact with the baby gators! Check out their
