We’re blessed to live in such a unique state. People travel from all over the world to experience our culture, food, and music, and yet here we are, just living it every single day. Louisiana is such a special place, so we thought we’d brag a little bit about these nine privileges that Louisianians have that the rest of the U.S. doesn’t.
Gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée... the list goes on and on. Sure, you may see a Cajun item on a menu up North, but you know it’s never going to be as good as it is down here.
Neighboring states may also have crawfish boils, but Louisianians know that we throw the best mudbug parties around. (Nice try, Mississippi.)

These special breeds of music are deeply rooted in our history and you just can’t find them anywhere else.

A grinder or sub does not count. Unless you’ve ordered it dressed on fresh French bread (specifically, Leidenheimer bread), it’s not a po’boy.

They don’t call us the Bayou State for nothing! Chances are, you grew up near a body of water, whether that was a river, bayou, lake, or swamp, and you probably have fond memories of spending your summer days out on the water.
Thousands flock to New Orleans every year to experience it, and we are blessed that Mardi Gras is right in our backyard.
Having the Gulf in our backyard does have its perks…
