Cajun restaurants are a dime a dozen here in Louisiana. While each one has its own unique twist on Cajun cuisine, there’s one that stands out from the rest, and that’s Poor Boy’s Riverside Inn. This hidden gem has been serving up some of the most incredible Cajun cuisine for over 85 years, and they just keep getting better and better. Gas up the car, because this rustic restaurant is worth a road trip for.
Just outside of Lafayette in the small city of Broussard lies one of the most delicious hidden gems in Lafayette Parish.
Over time, the menu expanded to include seafood and steak options. Though locations have changed, it’s been a family run business ever since. It even opened up a second restaurant, Little River Inn which has been around since 1988.

Poor Boy's family recipes have been handed down from generation to generation, much like many Cajun family foods. Chef Nelson’s chicken & andouille gumbo is practically perfect in every way, and the seafood gumbo is chock-fill of jumbo lump crab meat and shrimp.
