These 8 Beautiful Beaches In Louisiana Are Some Of The Most Peaceful Places To Explore During The Off-Season
One of the biggest perks of living in the south is that our mild winters enable us to enjoy outdoor adventures year-round. These eight beaches in Louisiana are perfect for those days when you just want to be outside soaking up some sun, and if you visit any one of these destinations during the off-season, you might just have the beach all to yourself!

Overlooking the beautiful Caney Lake, this little beach within Jimmie Davis State Park is the perfect spot to park it for an afternoon and soak up the rays.

Not too far from Jimmie Davis State Park lies Lake Claiborne State Park, another Louisiana State Park with a beautiful beach hiding right in plain sight. Flanked by towering pines, several picnic tables pepper the area, so feel free to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic with stunning lakefront views.

The Toledo Bend Reservoir is so large that it takes two state parks to cover it - South Toledo Bend State Park and North Toledo Bend State Park. While both have their own beauty, the former includes this pristine beach that the entire family will enjoy. The park is a popular breeding ground for bald eagles, so keep your eyes peeled while there and you might just catch this majestic bird soaring overhead.

For a more traditional beach experience, Cameron's Holly Beach is just what you're looking for. The beach overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and is a popular spot for searching for seashells. You can drive right up to the beach here, and you can even pitch a tent and stay the night!

After you've visited Holly Beach, take a little drive east over to Rutherford Beach where even more stunning Gulf views await!

Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island certainly deserves a place on this list, but there's a disclaimer: Grand Isle features several miles of public beaches for visitors to enjoy; however, Hurricane Ida devastated much of the island. As of February 2022, Grand Isle State Park remains closed while they continue to make repairs. Our recommendation is to keep Grand Isle on your list and be sure to visit as soon as it bounces back.

Overlooking Vermilion Bay, the half-mile stretch of beach at Cypremort Point State Park will make you think you've slipped away to a tropical paradise. The sunsets here are simply mesmerizing, so try to plan your visit around dusk so you can experience this incredible light show nature puts on every night.
