You'll find Louisiana's oldest general store right in the middle of downtown Natchitoches, at 758 Front St.
This store was established in 1863 and has been family operated since then.

It's now under the third generation of family management, and has weathered more than a few storms over the decades.
The store began as a door to door peddling operation that lasted through the Civil War. By 1893, the Kaffie brothers paid $1,616.29 for the land and construction of the building the store is in today.

Almost the entire interior and exterior of the building has remained the same since ten.
Sticking to their values and keeping to traditions has helped this incredible store survive some of the most tumultuous decades of American history.
