There are a lot of old plantations in Louisiana that make for an interesting and informative visit. But Laurel Valley Village is perhaps the most intriguing. Why? Because it is still a functioning farm where sugarcane is grown. Check out all the Village has to offer.

There are more than 50 surviving structures from the original plantation. The slave cabins, pictured here, are an incredible testament to the unspeakable tragedy of slavery.
