LARC’S Acadian Village is one of the most historically significant attractions in Louisiana. Located in Lafayette, this little village recreates what life was like for early Acadian settlers. For the majority of the year, visitors can stroll through the 32-acre property peppered with authentic Acadian homes from the 19th century. Every year, this historic Acadian village transforms into Noel Acadien au Village, a festive holiday display that’s a must for anyone spending Christmas in Louisiana. While it may not be an actual town in Louisiana, it’s such a splendid replica of a historic village, it counts as one in our book!
Visit the Acadian Village’s website for more information, and don’t forget to give them a follow on Facebook so you can stay up to date (especially for weather delays). Lafayette is one of the friendliest towns in the country, and it’s the perfect city in Louisiana to spend a few days exploring.
