Here in New Orleans, we don’t experience much of a winter, at least not when compared to the northern part of the country. While some may wish for a white Christmas, here are all the reasons why winter in New Orleans is the absolute best.

1. We don’t have to wake up at 5am to dig our cars out of snow.

Nope, sounds like a terrible way to start your day.
2. We don’t have to deal with black ice and terrible road conditions.

Driving in snow is an absolute nightmare.
3. We save money by not having to buy expensive winter jackets, hats, scarves, long johns, ear muffs, etc.

A hoodie will suffice most days.
4. We don’t have to deal with parking wars during snow storms.

And we don’t have to worry about the snowplow plowing snow into our driveways.

5. We save money on our heating bill since we don’t have to use it that often.

Maybe just to get the chill out. Although, to be fair, this comes back to bite us because where we save on heating, we spend on A/C in the summer months.
6. We can get away with flip flops practically every day.

7. Our cold fronts give us a reason to open the windows to air our houses out.

8. We can still enjoy the outdoors even in December/January
