A Trip To This Wildlife Refuge Near New Orleans Is A Picture Perfect Adventure
Now that the weather has warmed up a bit, it’s time to get outside and do some exploring. There are tons of nature trails within driving distance of New Orleans, but few offer the stunning views you’ll see here at Mandalay National Wildlife Refuge.

Established in 1996, the refuge is 4,619 acres of freshwater marsh and cypress-tupelo swamp.

Keep an eye out for gators, snakes, turtles, birds, including the bald eagle.

Don't worry, there's a nature trail so you can explore on foot.

The trail is just west of the refuge field office off of Hwy. 182.
