In some ways this list was hard to write because people in New Orleans just love to let each other live and let live—meaning there aren’t very strict rules about what’s normal and what’s weird. Just about anything can be In New Orleans, a lot of things that are considered weird are actually quite normal. We just like to do things our own way, there’s no doubt about that. 1. Put on a sweater and pants when it hits 75 degrees.

2. Dance in the street—or on the sidewalk—or on people’s porches.

3. No burying those that have passed in the ground.

4. Run around wearing red dresses--whether you are a woman or not.

5. Talk about what you are going to eat next---before you finish eating the meal in front of you.

6. Not using north, south, east, and west.

7. Say hello to one another when we pass each other in the street.

8. We make groceries, instead of buying them.

9. Wear costumes for days before Halloween.

10. If running of the bulls doesn’t happen in New Orleans, we bring the bullrun to us.
