With all of the hassle that taking airplanes has become, the thought of a train vacation becomes more and more appealing. Over the years, Amtrak has really increased its travel programs from New Orleans, creating amazing trip packages that will make for an incredible vacation. My two favorites are the trips to Memphis and San Antonio. Let’s explore!

Blues and the Bayou, From Memphis to New Orleans

The first trip Amtrak offers starts in Memphis and ends in New Orleans. This trip ticket includes a 6 day trip, five nights in a hotel and two meals for $749.
You'll get the chance to explore the sights and sounds of our musical neighbor to the north.

Memphis is home of so many amazing musicians as well as great bars and clubs on Beale St., pictured here.
Then you'll hop on the train to head to New Orleans.

Eventually you'll arrive into New Orleans by train, treated to some spectacular views.

From there you'll have time to explore the San Antonio Riverwalk.

You will love this amazing city which reminds me of the Spanish roots that are found throughout New Orleans.
