There are some things that New Orleanians just need to have. Some of these things may make living here a lot easier, some may just be things that make New Orleans what it is. All of them are things New Orleanians just can’t live without. How many of the following can you totally relate to?

New Orleanians will throw a festival for just about anything, and now that we are in prime festival season, get ready to have your weekends booked until Mardi Gras.

Egrets, pelicans, blue herons, and alligators are so prevalent you may overlook them, but they’re certainly special to our city.

Jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbo, beignets, the list could go on and on. Our cuisine is unique and delicious and we just couldn’t live without it.

Speaking of food, crawfish boils just deserve their own category, don’t you think? Crawfish boils are a time to get together with friends and family, discuss who has the best boil, and chow down. Is it crawfish season yet?

It just wouldn’t be New Orleans without Mardi Gras. Even back in the 1930s, the crowds for the Rex parade were incredible.
