Laura Plantation is a restored creole plantation that was built in 1805.
Formerly known as Duparc Plantation, this particular plantation is significant for its early 19th-centiry Creole-style raised big house and several surviving buildings. It’s one of only 15 plantations in Louisiana with this many surviving original structures.
Oak Alley might just be the most iconic plantation in all of Louisiana.
Built in 1837, Oak Alley is named for its famous double row of ancient oak trees that lead visitors to the plantation. Fun fact: the oak trees were actually planted long before the plantation was ever built.
Once your plantation tour has completed, the tour bus will scoop you up and drop you back off at their home base. They also offer shuttle service to and from hotels in New Orleans, which is very helpful if you have out of town guests with no other mode of transportation.
