Are you ready to discover some truly delicious po-boys?
We've picked out the best in the city that we think you are going to fall in love with.
1) Parasol’s, 2533 Constance St.
Start off in the lower garden district at this bar/restaurant. A great regular shrimp po-boy will be found there. But the real attraction is pictured here, the firecracker shrimp that offers a fried spicy shrimp.
2) Guy’s, 5259 Magazine St.
Yelp.com / Melanie T.
Guy's has been through a lot over the years. Fires, car accidents...it almost seemed like Guy's might not open again. But instead this uptown tradition is still going strong. And the grilled shrimp po-boy offered here is truly delicious. Of course their fried version is awesome as well.
3) Crabby Jack’s, 428 Jefferson Hwy.
Owned by the same people who run Jacque-Imo's, this delicious spot knows how to make a po-boy right. I truly love the lettuce they use here--not the typical iceberg.
4) Killer Po-Boys, 219 Dauphine St.
One of the most modern po-boy shops in New Orleans, they really experiment here. Lots of creative choices here, including serious options for vegetarians. But the shrimp is my favorite, and kind of takes a spin on a Banh Mi sandwich---includes: seared Gulf shrimp, coriander lime spice, sriracha aioli, herbs, daikon radish, carrot, cucumber.
5) Liuzza’s, 1518 N Lopez St.
If you're attending Jazz Fest, there's a good chance you've checked out this spot. Many credit Liuzza's for inventing this delicious sandwich, which includes BBQ shrimp inside of basically a bowl of BBQ shrimp.
6) Melba’s, 1525 Elysian Fields Ave.
You are going to fall in love with the delicious sandwiches here and the friendly people who make them. Oh yeah, and the people you might meet waiting in line...pretty much, we think you'll love this spot.
7) Avery’s, 2510 Tulane Ave.
Avery's is home to what has become an instant classic--the buffalo shrimp po-boy. Piled high with shrimp, bleu cheese, and awesome bread, it's hard to go wrong. And there is some truly delicious sides you can order here as well!
