When it comes to po’boys in New Orleans, a few iconic restaurants probably stick out in your head. Maybe you’re a regular at Parkway, feasting on their popular roast beef po’boy. Or maybe you’re all about that BBQ shrimp po’boy from Liuzza’s. And who can forget Domilise’s, that bright yellow corner joint that’s been around for more than 100 years? When you want to take your po’boy game to the next level, there’s a special little eatery in the city that’s worth the extra effort, and you need to swing by as soon as you can. Let’s take a closer look.
For a truly unique po’boy in New Orleans, a visit to Crabby Jack’s is in order.
Once you place your order at the counter, find a seat and prepare to chow down. Tiny but mighty, Crabby Jack’s has limited seating and fills up quickly during peak hours, so you’ll want to arrive early to ensure a seat.
And they have some truly unique po’boys on the menu. Pictured below is their fried green tomato and shrimp remoulade po’boy, which has just the perfect amount of tang.
But they’re more than just po’boys! Although that’s certainly their claim to fame, their fried chicken has a loyal fanbase. Some even call it the best in the city!
