This Incredible Po-Boy Restaurant In New Orleans Is Always Worth The Wait
If you’re looking for a good po’boy, then you simply must visit this place. They’ve been in business for over a century, and have proudly fed many generations of New Orleanians and tourists alike. Don’t be discouraged by the line, your patience will be rewarded!

They opened their doors in 1911 and remain a New Orleans landmark, over a century later.

Timothy intended on continuing to run the business as a neighborhood bake shop, and it wasn’t until 1929 that he added the "poor boy" to the menu. This recently invented sandwich was added to the menu to feed the American Can Company workers, and quickly became a hit.

After a flood destroyed their brick ovens in 1978, Parkway stopped functioning as a bakery and turned their focus to po’boys, buying all their bread from the Leidenheimer Baking Company.

He reopened Parkway in 2005, and generations that had enjoyed their delicious po’boys came back as well as new generations of New Orleanians.

On average, they serve 1,000 people a day. Wow!
