When it comes to po’boys, how do you choose? There are endless options when you’re in the mood for this iconic sandwich. Places like Parkway Tavern, Tracey’s, and R & O’s have developed a cult following, but there’s one place over in Metairie that’s worth a road trip, and that’s Parran’s Po’boys. They’ve two other locations, so if you can’t make it to the original in Metairie, you can always swing by the one in Kenner or their newest location in Uptown New Orleans. Let’s check it out.
When it comes to a tasty po’boy, you should make your way over to Parran’s Po’boys in Metairie.
Located in a strip mall on Veteran’s Boulevard, the Metairie location is their original location that opened its doors in 1975. Since then, they’ve opened up two other locations in Kenner and Uptown, so you’re never too far away from a hearty po’boy.
No matter which location you visit, you’ll feel like one of the family when you walk in.
Their Metairie location features over 20 different po’boys you can sink your teeth into. From fried oysters to turkey pastrami, there’s a po’boy for everyone here at Parran’s.
They offer both the traditional Italian muff and a seafood muff that’s loaded with fried shrimp, catfish, and oysters and dressed with lettuce, tomato, and their special Cajun mayo. If you’ve never had one before, you’re in for a real treat.
Their entree selections are some of the most incredible hidden gems on the menu. Pictured above is their Catfish Lorell which features perfect fried catfish strips topped with a creamy shrimp creole over rice. Yum!
For more information, including a full menu for each of their locations, be sure to check out their website and give them a follow on Facebook.
