Of all the amazing festivals that have sprung up around New Orleans over the years, there is one that has really stood out. Oak Street Po-Boy Festival, beginning after Katrina, has managed to capture a unique mixture of New Orleans flair and an intimate, community feeling. Of course, right at the center are the amazing po-boys that you can only enjoy right here in New Orleans.

But probably one of the things I look forward to the most is the annual Po-Boy fest.
At this festival, held on Oak Street every year, an incredible combination of community, music, and great artists gather to create an awesome event.

The festival began as a way to revitalize Oak Street, which has gone through an incredible transformation over the last decade or so. At the start, the festival wasn't particularly crowded, but now thousands of people attend every year.
Of course, at the center of the whole thing is the Po-Boy, New Orleans' beloved sandwich.

The basic recipe--french bread, lettuce, and some kind of meat, is explored on so many different levels at this festival.
