Sometimes it can feel like the only activities possible in New Orleans involve late nights, cocktails, and live music. Not a bad combination, but at times you need to shake it up a bit. That’s why the recent proliferation of companies offering kayaking and canoeing tours in New Orleans and the surrounding areas has been so exciting for people who live in New Orleans. Two big companies, Kayak-iti-Yat and Bayou Paddlesports offer regular tours for boaters of all skill levels to paddle up and down the beautiful waters of Bayou St. John.
At the most recent Bayou Boogaloo, the influx of paddlers made it hard to navigate the Bayou's waters.
Bayou Paddlesports leads group trips as well as gives classes and lessons. Paddleboarding is also an option with them. Kayak-iti-Yat offers a variety of tours, some on Bayou St. John and some at other locations around New Orleans.
