This Old-School Family Run Restaurant In New Orleans Is Too Good To Pass Up
One of the best things about living in New Orleans are the many different restaurants right at our fingertips. No matter what you’re craving, chances are that there’s a restaurant nearby serving just that. When you’re in the mood for some traditional New Orleans cuisine, be sure to pop on over to this old-school family run restaurant that has stood the test of time.

Leo Leininger was tired of the oil industry and wanted a fresh start, so he opened Katie’s in 1984. It was actually his daughter, Cathy’s idea, and they decided to name the restaurant after her grandmother.

The Leininger family sold the restaurant to the Craig family in 2001, who have taken the Mid-City icon and continued to honor the legacy while making it their own.
